Role Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Platform Engineer to augment our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud technologies and modern platform engineering practices. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure our cloud platform remains robust, scalable, and secure.


Our products are used by shipping company engineers and captains to optimise the technical operations and navigation of their vessels based on our in-house developed AI and optimisation algorithms.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain cloud-based infrastructure, platforms, and services.

  • Automate deployment and orchestration processes using tools such as Terraform, Crossplane, and Kubernetes.

  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery.

  • Ensure security best practices are followed and implement measures to protect data and systems.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and make recommendations for adoption.

  • Provide support for technical issues and contribute to the resolution of complex problems.

  • Implement Monitor system performance and respond to incidents, ensuring high availability and reliability.

  • Perform capacity planning and scale infrastructure as needed to support business growth.

  • Ensure security best practices are followed and implement measures to protect data and systems.

  • Document system architecture, configurations, and processes.

Job requirements

Must have:

  • Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or in a similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms, such as AWS.

  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, such as Terraform and Kubernetes.

  • Experience with container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.

  • Solid scripting and automation skills using languages like Python or Bash.

  • Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools for cloud infrastructure.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

  • Experience with the Crossplane tool.

  • Experience with Programming Skills (Golang or Rust).

  • Certifications in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.

  • Contributions to Kubernetes Communities is a plus.
